Steven Hofer

Steven L. Hofer of rural Camanche, Iowa passed in De Witt, Iowa on Tuesday May 13, 2025.

Steven was born on June 22, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa to Lyle A. Hofer and Helen Mae (Nee Howson) Hofer. Steve was graduate of Central DeWitt Community High School in 1963. He graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and Arts using his skills to pursue Architecture and Interior Design. Steve married Teri Sexton in 1980. Steve and Teri had one son Eric. They later divorced. Steve then married Craig Burnett on Jan 27, 2020.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents Lyle and Helen Mae Hofer. Surviving Steve is a spouse, Craig Burnett, his son Eric of Virginia and one brother James R. Hofer of DeWitt, a niece and nephew, and several cousins in the area. He was a past member of the Mohawk 4-H Club of Eden Township. Steve had continued to provide Interior Design Services up to the time of his passing. His hobbies included yard and carpentry work and gardening.

There will be no services. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials can be made to the Family or to the Clinton County Agricultural Society.
