At 7:08 AM this morning, the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, along with Epworth Fire and EMS, responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident on Gun Club Road, just a half-mile north of Epworth.
According to authorities, a 16-year-old male from Sherill was traveling southbound when he crossed into oncoming traffic, striking the trailer of a vehicle being towed by 48-year-old Ryan Schockemoehl of Cascade. Thankfully, Schockemoehl was not injured in the crash.
The 16-year-old driver, however, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Dubuque for treatment.
The teen has been cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
