Black Bears Could Soon Be Seen in Iowa

A meeting was held in Dubuque County about what to do when you see a black bear appear. Iowa DNR is helping Iowans prepare for black bear sightings.  In Iowa the spike in bear activity peaks in late May or early June which is also the breeding season. The bears are likely to come from Wisconsin or Minnesota.  If you do encounter Black bears, be sure to be loud and keep a safe distance.
