Keeping Watch on Severe Weather Chance

The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is watching for the possibility of severe weather. Right now we are under a level 3 Enhanced Risk for our area. The timing is from 9 PM to 3 AM. Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are all possible late tonight. The storms will be moving to the East Northeast at 50 MPH. Now they are watching to see if a layer of warm air will prevent storms from developing if that happens then that lowers our severe storm threat. However, if that layer of warm air vanishes then we will see severe storms. Stay with KMAQ and we will update you on this severe weather threat.
