Dog Dies in Dubuque Fire

Saturday afternoon, a dog was killed in a Dubuque house fire just as the residents were just  moving in.  Dubuque Fire was called just after 12:30 p.m. on Saturday to a home on fire on Alta Vista.  The fire happened inside the kitchen of the home. No one was home at the time, but the fire is believed to have been started by a moving box left on the stove while it was turned on. Unfortunately a dog died due to smoke inhalation. The home is inhabitable, and the damages are estimated at $30,000.
