Hands Off Protest in Maquoketa

On Saturday there were “Hands Off” protests nationwide and across the state including right here in Maquoketa. An estimated 200-250 people participated in the local event. They gathered at Glovik Community park, also known as the green space, and made their way around the town with chants about Medicare, speech, books and more. It was a very peaceful protest, with the goal being to spread knowledge about what is happening in the state and in the national government. Those that gathered  wanted to show their support for other people by getting their voices heard.
