Pork In the Pantry Makes Donation to Maquoketa
The Iowa Pork Producers Association’s pork in the pantry program provided more than 55,000 servings of pork for Iowans dealing with food insecurity. 38 County pork producer organizations worked with the state association to donate pork to local food pantries. The Pork Producers Association matched up to $1,000 for each county. Food pantries often face shortages of meat products, making this initiative a fantastic way to provide nutritious protein to food insecure Iowans.
The Maquoketa Community Cupboard received 80 Pounds of Pork today from a couple of members of the Jackson Pork Producers. They were given funds from the pork in the pantry program to give the food pantry the pork. The Maquoketa Community Cupboard thanks the pork producers for their pork in the pantry donation.
