Community Forum In Maquoketa

Jackson County residents and voters were able to have a sit down conversation with their legislators this past weekend.  The Maquoketa Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a community forum at the Maquoketa Chamber office.  State Representative Norlin Mommsen and Senator Mike Zimmer started the well attended event with some opening remarks and then proceeded to take questions from the audience.  Questions ranged from property taxes, education savings accounts, land and resource management, and many other topics.  Both legislators were able to answer each of the questions that were asked.  Following the event KMAQ was able to speak with both Mommsen and Zimmer and they both said they would welcome the opportunity to another forum in the future.
