A young 29 year old female died from being exposed to the cold

Police are investigating the death of a woman in Dubuque who was out in the bitter cold for several hours.

Dubuque police found 29-year-old Alexandria Brown of Dubuque lying in the snow Monday morning just before 9:00 AM in the 2200 block of Jackson Street. Police say officers attempted life-saving efforts but Alexandria was declared dead at the hospital.

Police said a preliminary investigation found Alexandria had been “exposed to the elements for several hours”. Her body was sent to the State Medical Examiner to determine if she in fact froze to death.
