The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office said no one was injured in a chimney fire that left $50,000 dollars in damages on Thursday morning.
At 8:34 a.m. on Feb. 13, four agencies—the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office, Sherrill Fire Department, Holy Cross Fire Department, and Centralia/ Peosta Fire Department—responded to 21702 Ridge Rd for a chimney fire that spread into the walls.
Homeowners Michael and Kerry Reuter said they had just filled the fireplace with wood that morning when the house started to fill with smoke.
Firefighters put the fire out, limiting the damages to approximately $50,000. Dollars.
