Lake MacBride State Park

………………………………………….

A passerby on the walking trail the main boat ramp at Lake MacBride State Park called the Joint Emergency Communications Center just before 9:00 A.M. Saturday reporting that they saw a pair of gloves near some broken ice and they were worried someone had fallen through.

Emergency personnel responded to the area and found a body in the lake.

Members of the Solon Fire Department donned ice rescue suits and were able to remove the person from the water and take them to the University of Iowa Hospital, but they did not survive.

It’s not known how long the person was in the water.
