Board of Supervisors–Jackson County

Jayden Scheckel– Jackson County Engineer

Update on the RAISE Grants: there are two of them, one for Iron Bridge and one for 395th Avenue and we won’t know until late June whether we are awarded or not. There have been changes needed to be done from the Biden Administration to the Trump Administration.  They changed some of the criteria their notice of funding opportunities, so the consultant had to revamp things and they decreased the funding and there are  unknowns.

Morehead Bridge– consulting our inspection consultant is still in the process of evaluating to look at the cords.   Our options right now and a lot to digest upon what we find with the county bridge fund and what repair would cost, consultant would have plans  and specs.  Jayden said, “ I don’t want to jinx ourselves but just say in theory we would get $2 million dollars for Morehead that replacement can happen, but  you’re three out.”
