Bellevue Sand and Gravel

Bard Materials of Dubuque.has purchased Bellevue Sand and Gravel.

For more than 70 years, Bard Materials has been an area leader in the  ready mix concrete industries. Established in 1946 as a small sand and gravel company in Dyersville, Bard was one of the first ready mix providers in the region.

While the company has grown and evolved over the course of its history, the employees of Bard Materials have always been committed to “Transforming Materials Responsibly to Build Better Lives, Communities, and Country.”

Bellevue Sand and Gravel Company was started in  1925 by Koos Construction of Des Moines. The company was building roads in the area north of Bellevue at that time and placed the siding from the main track of the Milwaukee railroad in that area.

Bard will maintain the existing sand and gravel pit in Bellevue, provide the same services as Bellevue Sand and Gravel and will retain 6 to 7 employees of the longtime company.
