Acts of vandalism

……………………………………………………..
Police in Muscatine say they’re investigating multiple acts of vandalism that are believed to have happened on Sunday.
In an update on Monday, police said most of the vandalism involved some sort of graffiti spray-painted on various buildings. One building also had a window damaged.
One agency also received what police said appeared to be a racist email.
Police do not believe there is any ongoing threat to the public related to the vandalism.
The investigation is ongoing.
Two restaurants in Muscatine were vandalized with swastikas over the weekend.
Jibaro Restaurant, a Puerto Rican restaurant, and Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant, both shared on Facebook they were the target of vandals.
Muscatine Mayor Brad Bark confirmed the vandalism, saying he has been in touch with the Muscatine Police Department as they investigate the situation.
“Let me be very clear: we do not condone this kind of hate-filled behavior in our community and we work towards identifying those involved. Such acts are absolutely disgusting and have no place here in Muscatine,” Mayor Bark said in a social media post.
“Jibaro went through this unpleasant experience where someone wrote a threatening message and damaged our walls and mutilated the paint with our flag,” staff with the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday. “Let it also be understood that these threats will never stop Jibaro, here we do not know fear.”
“Your words, gestures, and presence have reminded us that love truly triumphs over hate. Your support strengthens us to continue celebrating our culture, sharing our food, and building a place where everyone is welcome,” staff with Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant wrote in a Facebook post.
