New Junior Optimist International Club forms in Maquoketa

The Maquoketa Optimist Club was able to install and welcome the Maquoketa Middle School Junior Optimist International Club. This is a way for students to work together and for them to find optimism and make it come true. This group consists of 14 students and their leader Cassie Edwards. One of the Optimist Clubs foundations is community service or giving back to the community. The Junior Optimist International Club of Maquoketa has 3 different community  projects they are working on. They include tie blankets for Sleep In Heavenly Peace, Valentine’s Day Crafts for nursing homes, and hosting a blood drive on the 29th.  Their mission is to inspire others to serve and ignite the fire of service within their club and others.
