Nicole and Larry Snyder

– Images and stories of the devastating fires around Los Angeles have circulated on social media throughout the past week.

Isabel Bloom figurines were charred after being caught in a Davenport-native family’s house fire due to the wildfires.

Nicole and Larry Snyder moved to California in 2007.

The Snyder’s are one of many families who lost everything in devastating wildfires when they had to evacuate their home Tuesday evening.

“When the power went out, we had no internet and we’re like ‘okay, we can’t even monitor the fire, so we’ve just gotta get out of here’” Nicole said.

The day after they evacuated, the Nicole and Larry learned that the home that they’ve lived in since 2018 had been destroyed by the fire.

Now, they are staying in an Air B&B while they work on what is next for their family.

Nicole says they support they have received from the Quad Cities community has been amazing. They’ve even received support from some people they haven’t spoken to in many years.
