Bettendorf library launching its mobile app

The Bettendorf Public Library is launching their first ever mobile app.

According to the library, the app is designed to make accessing library services and managing a library account easier with many unique features.

These features include:

  • Virtual Library Card(s)
    • Patrons no longer have to wonder if they left their – or any family member’s – physical library card at home as they’re turning onto Learning Campus Drive. This app allows users to add multiple cards and choose any of those “e-cards” to check out materials. The “e-cards” can also be added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
  • ISBN Scanning
    • Patrons who see a book that interests them while shopping or visiting a family member/friend can use the app to scan the ISBN barcode on the back to find out if the library owns it… then stop by the library on their way home!
  • Catalog Search
    • Patrons can use the app to quickly and easily find books, movies, music, and more. Place Items on Hold Once patrons scan or search, they can use the app to reserve their favorite items and then pick them up at their convenience.
  • View Checked-Out Materials
    • The app allows patrons to keep track of what they’ve borrowed and due dates.
  • Events
    • Patrons can stay informed about upcoming events at the library and register right on the app.
  • Reserve Rooms
    • The app also allows patrons to reserve rooms for their own meetings or events.
  • Access Digital Content
    • The app’s convenient links allow patrons to stream videos, read local newspapers, get help with schoolwork, and more.
  • One Spot for Services
    • Patrons can instantly access details on all the services the library provides through the app

“We are thrilled to provide a new and simple way for patrons to access library resources and services when it’s most convenient for them,” said Library Director Jillian Aschliman.

Patrons can find the Bettendorf Public Library App on the Apple Store or Google Play.

The app will require the patron’s library card and PIN number, which should be the last four digits of the patron’s barcode or phone number.

If further assistance is needed, people can call the library’s help desk at (563) 344-4175. For more information, visit www.bettendorflibrary.com/app.
