In the Iowa District in and for Jackson County:

On January 7th, the Defendant, Corey Jordan, of Maquoketa, is charged with assault, from an incident which occurred on December 5th, 2024 at 2:20pm.  The Defendant pleads not guilty, and would like a bench trial.

On January 7th, 2025 at 10:16pm, Officer McPherson and County Deputies were dispatched to 113 South Division Street, Spragueville for an active physical domestic.  Both subjects, Edward Slager,  and Mercedes Carr were in a domestic, physical altercation. And had gotten into a verbal argument. Mercedes Carr broke Slager’s Mother’s television. They have been in an in and off  relationship for the past six months. The Defendant, Edward Slager is charged with domestic abuse assault- injury or mental injury.  The Defendant, Mercedes Carr, is charged with criminal mischief-5th degree.
