VISITORS
FIRE DEPARTMENT CHIEF KENT CLASEN
Clausen explained that the fire fighters purchased the ladder truck-306 and gifted it to the city. The repairs to the ladder truck were recognized during a ladder truck inspection last year. There
were ladder and turntable repairs for a cost of $17,899.38, and Chassis, brakes and valve repairs.
They also did a pump test for a cost of $17,965.65. This is a total cost of $35,865.03. The truck
committee evaluated if the truck should be repaired or replaced. It was decided that it would be
a good investment to repair the truck since replacing it would be very expensive. Clasen is
requesting that the city pay a third of the invoice which would be $11,955.01. Medinger
expressed his thoughts on a capital improvement plan (CIP). Medinger would also like to see
money set aside in a fund for these types of unexpected expenses. The Rural Fire Agency has
already approved paying a third and the Fire Department will pay the other third. Roling moved
with a second by Jess to approve paying $11,995.01 for repairs to Truck-306. Motion carried
unanimously. FYE 2026 BUDGET REVIEW
