In the Iowa District Court in and for Jackson County

On January 2nd, this matter comes before the Court for sentencing. The Defendant, Chad Cozart, of Baldwin, appeared in person on the charge of interference with official acts, from an incident which occurred on November 15th, 2024 at 11:56 pm. The Defendant was found guilty following a trial to the court. The Defendant is placed on unsupervised probation for a term of one year. A hearing on Unsupervised Probation is scheduled on January 6th, 2026 at 1:05pm at the Jackson County Courthouse. Bond on appeal is set at $250 dollars cash only.

On January 2nd, the Defendant, Denise Griffith, of DeWitt, appears in person on the charge of theft–5th degree, from an incident which occurred on November 23rd, 2024 at 7:35pm. Defendant enter a plea of not guilty; therefore, a Pretrial Conference is scheduled on January 21st, 2025 at 2pm at the Jackson County Courthouse.

On January 2nd, the Defendant, Jodi Eby, of Cedar Rapids, is charged with possession of controlled substance–meth, and possession of a controlled substance– cannabidiol–1st offense, from an incident which occurred on December 26th, 2024 at 8pm.  A hearing on Arraignment is scheduled on January 17th, 2025 at 8:45am at the Jackson County Courthouse.

On January 2nd, the Defendant, Makaylea Yackle, appeared for arraignment in writing filed by counsel.  A Pretrial Conference is scheduled on January 31st 2025 at 10am at the Jackson County Courthouse. A Jury Trial is tentatively scheduled for 9am.
