DeWitt man, Justin Paysen

Court record show, a 35 year Dewitt man is in custody Monday, after law enforcement agencies served a warrant and found LSD, Ketamine, cocaine, and psilocybin mushrooms.  Justin Paysen faces five felony charges of controlled substance substance violation, three felony charges of failure to affix a drug stamp, and an aggravated misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance–marijuana–3rd or subsequent offense.

According to arrest affidavits, at 12:30pm, Friday, members of the Scott County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit Task Force, DeWitt Police Officers, and Clinton County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant on the 500 block of Third Avenue, DeWitt, in connection with an illegal controlled substance investigation.  Investigators searched Justin, his cell phone, and a 2014 gray Dodge Grand Caravan.

After he was read the Miranda Rights, Paysen said there were illegal controlled substances at the residence that included psilocybin mushrooms, DMT, LSD, marijuana, Ketamine, MDMA/ ecstasy, MDA, and 2C-B.  Paysen admitted to selling all of these controlled substances, along with others, for at least a year.

The Court records say, a search of the Van revealed plastic bags for packaging materials, empty capsules to manufacture pills, and two vials containing unknown powder substances.

Justin Paysen is being held Monday in Clinton County Jail on $80,000 dollars cash only bond, and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on January 7th, 2025 in Clinton County Court.
