In the Iowa District Court in and for Jackson County

On December 20th, this matter comes before the Court for a plea hearing.  The Defendant, James Jones, of Maquoketa, appeared by written plea and through counsel on the charge of burglary–3rd degree from an incident which occurred on June 3rd, 2024, early morning.  Defendant pleads guilty.  Sentencing Hearing is scheduled on January 24th, 2025 at 9am at the Jackson County Courthouse.

On December 20th, the Defendant, Herbert Burdette, of Maquoketa,  appeared with counsel  The Court finds that the defendant has violated the terms of his probation.  The Jackson County Sheriff’s department transported the defendant to CADS today, December 23rd, 2024.  The defendant is charged with assault by inmate with bodily fluids/ secretion, assault on persons in certain occupations, and interference with official acts, from an incident which occurred on June 10th, 2024 at 8:50pm.
