Cedar Rapids teenager helps the homeless

Thirteen year old, Daniel Camp, always wanted to help others, especially the homelessness. This past Saturday Daniel gave nearly 200 gift cards to places like Wendy’s, Casey’s, and Chick- fil -A, also clothing and blankets to those in need. With the icy weather last weekend it enabled Daniel to collect more donations, such as, clothing. His Aunt Veronica Johnson- Browning helped with the donations. She said,” he’s an awesome kid.” Since Daniel was five he had a passion for helping those experiencing homelessness.
Daniel said, “they’re just like us, but they’ve been through it. So you just have to bear with them. Get to know them. There’s a lot of loving people in here who really needed this today.” Daniel is hoping to have another event soon at Green Square Meals in downtown Cedar Rapids.
