COUNCIL AND MAYOR UPDATES
Medinger had updates. The council should discuss a plan for SOO Green and what Bellevue
would like to negotiate. Medinger suggested the opening of the Spring Street Crossing.
Weinschenk reminded Council that we have discussed this twice with SOO Green and they have
denied any relationship with the railroad. This would not be an item for negotiations. Scheckel
noted that a higher priority is assuring that SOO Green puts the street back appropriately.
Scheckel and Weinschenk have been in contact with Sheila Lee, IDOT, to ensure that the street
is put back correctly.
Medinger also has a suggestion for the compost pile. Medinger suggested moving the grass
clippings, garden refuse, leaves etc. to the old salt shed down at the City Shop. This way the
guys could keep it pushed back and when it is full load it in a dump truck and haul it away. This
would keep the “stinky” stuff from Felderman Park. Medinger would also like to form a
committee again to discuss the ideas for Felderman Park and put together a plan for a phased
approach to developing the park. Medinger stated he would lead the group.
ADJOURNMENT
As there were no other matters on the agenda for discussion, Mayor William Reistroffer
adjourned the meeting at 7:00 P.M.
