It’s A Wonderful Life in Maquoketa

On Sunday, December 8th the Maquoketa Chamber of Commerce held the annual “It’s A Wonderful Life in Maquoketa.” The chamber with help from local sponsors were able to host an extraordinary event in the downtown district’s green space. There were lines for the horse drawn wagon rides, and lines to play the games. The event also had hot chocolate, cookies, a live nativity scene by First Lutheran Church of Maquoketa, along with a soup supper and grilled cheese sandwiches, marshmallow roasting, pictures with a truck and Olaf, and prizes for the kids, and of course Santa Claus was there. There were, according to Linda Tenney Operations Coordinator of the Maquoketa Chamber,  about 400 people at the event. This event is one of the larger ones they had for “It’s A Wonderful Life in Maquoketa” and they expect it to be bigger next year in 2025.
