US Bank Closing the Last Maquoketa Location

A branch office of US Bank located in Maquoketa will be closing in several months.
Customers of US Bank were notified in a letter sent earlier this week that the West Platt branch in Maquoketa would close on January 27, 2025.
A statement from the company said “We understand that the closure of any branch is a disruption for our clients and our employees, and we are working to make the transition as smooth as possible for all involved.”
Caitlin Hurley, an Assistant Vice President at US Bank, told KMAQ Radio through an email message, that customer banking habits are changing and more are using online and digital banking products. She said US Bank will continue to open and enhance other locations, as well as rapidly enhance their digital capabilities.
She added, “We are proud to have served our clients at the West Platt branch and hope that we can continue to serve the community at our more than 2,000 locations across 26 states, including more than 50 locations across Iowa, and through our award-winning digital and voice offerings.”
Following the closure, U.S. Bank will maintain the building and market it to interested buyers.
