6 Counties will form Ports of Eastern Iowa Authority.

Six Iowa counties have signed a resolution to form the Ports of Eastern Iowa Authority.

This Authority will work within the Mississippi River Ports of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois region, according to officals. It will also expand the Corn Belt Ports influence across the Midwest and continue to support its role in national commerce, transportation, and defense.

The Counties include, Clinton, Dubuque, Jackson, Louisa, Muscatine, and Scott. The first organizational meeting of the Ports will be open to the public, and will be held on October 1oth at the Western Illinois Univeristy Riverfront Campus in Moline, Illinois.
